Outline of the project and details of how the community will benefit.

Jay Baba is a multicultural band. It is an initiative of Agape Community Services, a not-for profit organisation based in Fairfield that provides support to Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Communities. Jay Baba Multicultural Music Band focuses on promoting harmony and diversity. Jay Baba welcomes people from all cultural backgrounds and is open to anyone who sings and/or plays a music instrument.

We want to celebrate and promote awareness of the huge array of arts and cultural practices in our community and we believe music is a great way to do that. Jay Baba will be a way of recognising the amazing array of these talents in our community; this will promote positive intercultural relations in the community. We aim to bring the community together through our passion for music; fostering a greater sense of engagement and inclusion among the band members and the community as a whole.

Jay Baba encourages cross-cultural interaction by showcasing different cultural traditions through music and provide an opportunity for the community to learn from each other's traditions and practices. The live music performances in the local community creates a friendly high quality musical community and also inspiration to others. A greater sense of community engagement, pride and belonging if fostered.
